2020 Miss Rodeo Washington
Madi Casto

Picture
Nestled in the eastern portion of the Spokane River Valley, is the picturesque community of Otis Orchards, Washington, where Madi Casto, Miss Rodeo Washington 2020 lovingly calls home.  The 25-year-old daughter of Bill and Marie Casto and avid outdoor enthusiast, who enjoys trail riding, hiking and biking, in and around her community, is honored to serve as the ambassador for the Evergreen State of Washington. Promoting Washington’s rich agriculture history, more than a dozen Columbia River Circuit PRCA rodeos within her border, and the proud members of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, are passions you can easily see in Madi’s daily routine, and is in parallel with her career path.

In 2016, Madi earned a Bachelor’s in Geography, from Eastern Washington University, and will also graduate in 2020 with two Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning and Public Administration with a focus on rural development and land use.  Madi’s career path is to advocate for the preservation of land used for agriculture, as nearly ninety-five percent of Washington farms and ranches are still owned and operated by families helping to build strong, safe and healthy communities in rural areas.

At the young age of two, Madi began her equestrian dream by riding a American Quarter horse affectionately named “Missy,” a retired rope horse. Mastering several different disciplines to date, Madi previously competed in Spokane County 4-H and as a member of the Cheney Washington State High School Equestrian Team, while most recently competing in Washington State Horsemen and BRN4D barrel racing throughout the Pacific Northwest. As a fourth-generation horsewoman, horses play an integral role in her and her family’s daily life.

Looking forward to her year ahead, Miss Rodeo Washington 2020 Madi Casto appreciates the opportunities her title will provide: a platform for sharing her love of the sport of rodeo, its fans, supporters, committees and contestants; and showcasing the Evergreen State’s abundantly-rich agriculture terrain and urban and rural charm, which Madi is eager to help maintain for future generations to come.
